Turkey Closes Airspace to Armenian Airline Without Notification

Turkey's aviation authorities have revoked the previously granted permission for the Armenian airline Flyone Armenia to operate flights through Turkish airspace to Europe, without prior notice. This information was shared by Aram Ananyan, the chairman of the board of directors at Flyone Armenia, in an interview with Armenpress.

“For reasons that are unclear to us and without any visible basis, the Turkish aviation authorities have canceled the permission previously granted to Flyone Armenia to operate flights through Turkish airspace to Europe. The cancellation was carried out without prior notification, leaving our airline and our passengers confronted with the situation,” Ananyan stated. “Flyone Armenia is currently in contact with the passengers affected by the canceled flights and will provide updates on ongoing developments shortly. We ask for our passengers' understanding for the inconvenience caused by circumstances beyond our control,” he emphasized.

In a conversation with TASS, Ananyan mentioned that due to Turkey's closure of airspace for Flyone Armenia, a flight from Paris to Yerevan was forced to land in Chișinău.
