New Details on Pentagon's Classified Documents Leak

U.S. service member Jack Teixeira began leaking intelligence in February 2022, according to The New York Times.

It is thought that the first leak on Discord occurred less than 48 hours after the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine. The NYT notes that the posts were made under a username previously linked to Teixeira.

According to the publication, the airman shared information in a gaming chat that consisted of about 600 members. Simultaneously, the user claimed to be publishing data from the National Security Agency, the CIA, and other intelligence agencies.

“At the same time, it remains unclear why the leak of classified data was not uncovered earlier,” the newspaper writes.
