Armenian Citizens Purchase 164 Land Plots in Georgia
In 2023, nearly 62% of land plots purchased by foreigners in Georgia belong to Russian citizens, followed by citizens of the Republic of Armenia. This information was requested from the Ministry of Justice by Khatuna Samnidze, a member of the United National Movement party in Georgia, as reported by Aliq.ge.
More specifically, in the first quarter of 2023, foreigners registered 2,038 non-agricultural land plots in Georgia, of which 1,256 have become the property of 447 Russian citizens.
The top five countries whose citizens purchased land plots in Georgia in 2023 are as follows:
- Russia: 1,256 plots, 447 owners
- Armenia: 164 plots, 47 owners
- Greece: 154 plots, 58 owners
- Ukraine: 70 plots, 26 owners
- Germany: 54 plots, 21 owners
