Meeting on Military Support for Kyiv Kicks Off in Ramstein

The fourth meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group has commenced. This was reported by the U.S. Department of Defense. The opening remarks were delivered by Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin. Defense chiefs are participating in the meeting online.

The meeting is taking place in Ramstein. Prior to the session, discussions were held between the defense ministers of Ukraine and the United States.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg is also participating in the Ramstein-format meeting, having visited Kyiv the day before. According to Stoltenberg, the 'entire alliance is in favor of Ukraine joining NATO.'

However, the head of the transatlantic alliance refrained from clarifying whether specific steps would be taken regarding Kyiv's membership at the upcoming NATO summit in July. Stoltenberg emphasized that the main objective now is to support Kyiv in the war against Putin's army.
