Armenia is Not Trying to Assist Russia in Evasion of Sanctions, Kerobyan
Armenia is not trying to assist Russia in evading sanctions in any way. This was stated by Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan during a press briefing after the government meeting.
The minister reminded that Armenia is in the same customs and economic zone as Russia, which means that the movement of goods between the countries is free.
“We are working to uphold the provisions of the EAEU agreement, ensuring that Armenian companies do not fall under secondary sanctions. This does not mean that this is excluded,” he said.
Furthermore, according to Kerobyan, some companies are already under sanctions.
He also noted that to alleviate the concerns of American and European partners, the Armenian side is continuously in touch with them. “We are able to explain that the actions taken by Armenian companies do not aim to place Armenia under secondary sanctions, but stem from the interests of our country’s economic and labor context,” said Vahan Kerobyan.
