Another 5.4 Million Dram for Support to Families of the Missing

Another 5.4 Million Dram for Support to Families of the Missing

The government is reallocating funds in the state budget and making changes and additions to previously adopted decisions. A total of 5.4 million dram will be allocated for the purpose of providing social support to the families of civilians who became victims during the military actions initiated by Azerbaijan against the Republic of Artsakh in 2020, as well as to those whose family members are missing and to individuals who have acquired disabilities.

According to government decisions, families of missing civilians were entitled to receive financial assistance set at 300,000 dram per month, with applications needing to be submitted electronically by March 10, 2022. However, there are still civilians reported missing, as well as captives, whose families continue to require ongoing support.

In another decision, the government will ensure the continuation of social support for the families of missing servicemen. The monthly amount allocated to a serviceman's family is 300,000 dram, which is provided from the month the measure is confirmed, but no longer than until the serviceman is judicially declared missing. Due to the extension of the support payment period by two months, an additional 34.2 million dram will be required to provide assistance to the families of 57 servicemen considered missing.
