When they approached Mirzoyan, he was already on the ground: 'Hayots Ashkharh'
The National Security Service announces the conclusion of the preliminary investigation into the criminal case of ARA Badoyan, one of the individuals arrested for attacking Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan. This information was reported by "Hayots Ashkharh" newspaper.
"We are talking about Ara Badoyan, and his case is being sent to court," the newspaper writes.
Let us recall that after the signing of the trilateral statement in 2020, a group of citizens organized massive protests near the buildings of the Government and National Assembly of Armenia, as well as near the residence allocated to the Prime Minister.
The newspaper reports that Badoyan joined the participants in the mass riots that inflicted violence on the President of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, breaking through their lines and approaching Mirzoyan, who was already lying on the ground, and kicked him, thereby using violence against him.
"Badoyan does not accept guilt, stating that when he approached Mirzoyan, he was already on the ground," the newspaper mentions.
Let us remember that on November 9, 2020, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev adopted a joint statement regarding the cessation of hostilities in Artsakh. After the signing of the statement, Prime Minister Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page that it was an extremely difficult decision for him and everyone.
Following Pashinyan's announcement, many people moved towards Republic Square, with some storming the main building of the government and the Prime Minister's office, while others headed towards Baghramyan Avenue and entered the National Assembly building. The President of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, was beaten and taken to the hospital.
