Nonsense and Irrelevance: Iran's Response to Azerbaijan's Threats
Member of the Iranian National Security Commission has urged the authorities in Baku not to test Iran's patience. This was reported by Parstoday.ir.
Shahriar Heydari stated, “Azerbaijan is weak compared to Iran on various levels. The Islamic Republic holds a leading position in the region. Meanwhile, the Azerbaijani government operates under the influence of other countries.” He noted that Iran advises Azerbaijan to maintain its independence and pay attention to its internal capabilities, as a country entirely dependent on others cannot be stable.
Heydari added, “Iran has always focused on regional capabilities instead of foreign countries and has paid particular attention to Azerbaijan. We consider these threats to be nonsense and irrelevant. We advise the Azerbaijani authorities not to test Iran's patience.”
