Japan's Parliament Receives Email Threatening 'Mass Murder'

Japan's upper house of Parliament's public relations division received an email threatening 'mass murder' on Friday, April 21, around noon. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing Sankei.

The email indicated that 'numerous high-power bombs and sarin gas generators have been placed' in various chambers of both the lower and upper houses of Parliament, and that a mass murder is set to occur at 13:34 local time on Friday.

The authors of the email, who claimed affiliation with a certain religious group, asserted that only acts of terrorism could change the country. The name of the religious group was not disclosed.

The police department has searched the area, but no further information is available.
