"It is Possible that Official Yerevan Could Have Been More Prepared": CSTO Secretary General
On April 19, CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov held a meeting attended by representatives of state authority bodies, as well as leading research and experimental centers from Russia. Tasmagambetov addressed the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the status of Nagorno-Karabakh, and assessed the geopolitical situation in the South Caucasus.
"Of course, no one is planning to impose any solutions on our Armenian allies regarding the conflict with Azerbaijan, the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh. However, if the CSTO had a timely information-analytical center, and if specialists from that center conducted, let’s say, active monitoring of the pre-war situation, modeling possible developments of various events while considering different factors, then perhaps official Yerevan would have been better prepared, and in certain circumstances could have taken more advantageous actions, that is, forecasting events," stated Tasmagambetov.
