CSTO Secretary General on the Situation in Nagorno-Karabakh

The situation in the South Caucasus is complex and volatile, with ongoing risks related to the circumstances in Nagorno-Karabakh and along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. This statement was made by CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov.

“Of course, nobody intends to impose any decision on our Armenian allies regarding the conflict with Azerbaijan or Nagorno-Karabakh. However, if the CSTO had timely access to an information-analytical center, and if specialists at this center had actively monitored what could be described as a pre-war situation, perhaps official Yerevan would have been better prepared and could have acted in a way that would have been more beneficial under certain circumstances,” he noted.
