VIDEO: Starship Launch Scheduled for Today Did Not Take Place

The launch of SpaceX's Starship spacecraft scheduled for today did not occur due to a first-stage malfunction, as announced by company representatives during a live broadcast.

It will take at least 48 hours to prepare Starship for another launch attempt.

This is the second time the launch of Starship has been postponed; the previous attempt was set for April 10, but the Federal Aviation Administration moved the launch date to today.

On the eve of the launch, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk shared his expectations, stating that this time, it was probable that they would not succeed in reaching orbit. In response to a question about what he meant by success, Musk said that “anything that does not result in the launch pad exploding will be considered a victory.”

This reusable space system consists of Starship (prototype Ship 24) and the Super Heavy rocket (prototype Booster 7). It is intended to deliver up to 150 tons of payload into orbit.

For SpaceX, this represents, first and foremost, an opportunity to rapidly and affordably expand its network of communication satellites in Earth orbit (Starlink). The company also plans to organize tourist flights around the Moon, for which some millionaires have already booked tickets.
