Third Suicide Reported at Number 1 Nursing Home: Elderly Man Found Hanging

A third suicide has reportedly occurred at the Armenian Ministry of Labor and Social Issues’ "Yerevan Number 1 Nursing Home" located in the Victory neighborhood. MediaHub reports that the lifeless body of the elderly man was discovered on the nursing home’s balcony.

The Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed this information. "On March 25, at 08:45, the police received a report from a nurse at the nursing home, stating that at 08:35 that same day, a male resident born in 1954 had committed suicide by hanging from the balcony railing," the ministry’s press office stated.

A forensic examination has been ordered in relation to the incident, and an investigation is underway. An unnamed source told the media, "He was a normal person, sensible; his death was unexpected for us."

This marks the third suicide reported at the nursing home in the past six months. Earlier, it was reported that two elderly residents, Yeghishe and Perch, had also taken their own lives by hanging from a tree. Last October, the press only covered the case of 80-year-old Perch G., who had left a note stating that nobody was to blame for his death: "And do not blame anyone. This is my flight of thought. I can’t endure the pain anymore. I don’t want to suffer unnecessarily in this place."
