Police is the Backbone of Our Statehood, Says Pashinyan

The police is the backbone of our statehood, and it must grow stronger with each passing day. This statement was made by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a meeting of the police board on the occasion of Police Day today. According to the Prime Minister's press service, Pashinyan noted that the internal affairs system is undergoing a major transformation process aimed at continuously setting higher standards.

The head of the executive spoke about the three main directions in which the process is progressing. He stated that the first is the continuous development of professional skills, establishing a benchmark below which no police officer can fall in terms of their professional and intellectual abilities.

The second is the social guarantee system. Police officers should not have to think about how to pay for their children's education. This is a situation that acts against the state.

Pashinyan mentioned that these social changes are primarily being made for the sake of other citizens because it is the employees of the police, rescue services, and other law enforcement agencies who ensure the security of the legal order for other citizens and the state.

“If we want to have security, our primary goal should be to ensure that you remain focused on your work in providing security and not on various household issues that are common to all and constantly distract you from your job, forcing you to have other agendas,” Pashinyan noted.
