VIDEO: What Has Changed During This Time? How Was the Decision Made to Go for Negotiations in Russia
“From the very beginning, when EU observers were deployed in the sovereign territory of Armenia, Azerbaijan attempted to demonstrate that the observers were not fulfilling their mission properly. The incident was also aimed at the EU observers,” said Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, in an interview with CivilNet, referring to the recent Azerbaijani aggression near the village of Tegh on April 11. He noted that the deployment of observers was supposed to be a deterrent tool for Azerbaijan, but the latter continues both its military rhetoric and provocations.
“We expect that Brussels will take appropriate steps to ensure that Azerbaijan does not use false pretexts to organize provocations,” stated the Secretary of the Security Council.
Armen Grigoryan also responded to the question of what has changed during this time that negotiations are now being held in Russia instead of in Brussels or Washington.
