Video: I Wanted to Spit in Kyaramyan's Face and Apologize Online – Parent of a Fallen Soldier
We understand that the scuffles have caused us moral harm, but today we are losing something much more valuable, we are losing the land soaked with our boys' blood, which is far more precious to us than any bickering. This was stated today, April 14, by Gayane Hakobyan, the mother of fallen soldier Zhora Martirosyan, during a conversation with journalists in front of the Investigative Committee, addressing the incident of police violently detaining parents of the deceased on September 1.
When asked how long the sit-in in front of the Investigative Committee would continue, she replied, “We have said that the sit-in will last for 24 hours until 3 PM; we are now waiting for them, it depends on their response, or lack thereof. After that, we will decide. They told us yesterday that they are busy and cannot answer our questions, but they really have no answers.”
“We saw how Alen Simonyan spat on a citizen. To be honest, I wanted to spit in Kyaramyan's face and, like he did, apologize online. Anyway, there is no trial, no accountability for that. I haven't slept all night, waiting for him to come; he still hasn't shown up,” she said.
The woman also noted that the police officers who assaulted her apologized during the interrogation, saying they did not intend for such an incident to happen, but acted because they had orders.
