Two Armenian Companies Listed in US Sanctions Registry

Two Armenian companies have been added to the U.S. sanctions list over the past year. The names of these companies were included in the U.S. Department of the Treasury's SDN (Specifically Designated Nationals) list. This information was reported by Sputnik Armenia.

The U.S. Department of Treasury claims that these companies are connected to Russian electronics manufacturers. In addition to these, VTBA Armenia has also been included in the list.

Before the Ukraine conflict, companies from Iran such as the Melat Bank subsidiary and the Iranian airline Mahan Air’s branch (Flight Travel) were included in the sanctions list from Armenia. Following the sanctions, VTBA Armenia, along with the two Armenian companies, Takon and Milur Electronics, were added to the list. The registration date for the second company is noted as May 2022, while the first one does not have a specified date.

It is noted that both companies are engaged in wholesale electronics sales, with the first company, Takon, being connected to the Russian electronics manufacturer ПКК Миландр, and the second, Milur Electronics, being associated with another developer, Радиоавтоматика LLC.

According to data from Armenia's state registry, Takon was registered on April 5, 2022, by Russian citizen Vadim Verkhovtsev. The company is involved in the import and re-export of Chinese radio electronics to Russia. Earlier in 2022, this company was already under sanctions from the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
