‘We will be able to resolve all problematic elevators within four years’: Avinyan
The Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, addressed investment programs being implemented in the capital during a government session. He noted that Yerevan cannot benefit from subsidy programs, and issues are being resolved through individual initiatives.
Avinyan announced that annual programs compatible with subsidy projects will be proposed to the government. Referring to the work done and ongoing efforts, he pointed out that the executive branch has supported the procurement of 473 elevators. “We plan to implement another 100 through the city hall budget, and if additional savings are realized, we will increase that number,” he stated.
He informed that hundreds of elevators have been installed from 2019 to 2022, with 500 installed in 2022 alone, and it is expected that this number will be surpassed in 2023. “If we maintain this pace, we will be able to resolve all problematic elevators in Yerevan within four years,” he added. He indicated that special attention is being paid to the suburban districts of the capital.
Avinyan also reported that 22 renovated kindergartens will be put into operation this year in Yerevan. “In 2024, we plan to put into operation 33 renovated or newly built kindergartens,” he noted.
