Ukraine's First Lady Named Among World's 100 Most Influential People
In the 2023 edition of Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world, Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska and Nobel laureate human rights defender Oleksandra Matviichuk have been included.
In addition to them, the list features prominent figures such as U.S. President Joe Biden, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and The Wall Street Journal journalist Evan Gershkovich, who was arrested on Putin's orders, among others.
U.S. First Lady Jill Biden, introducing Zelenska, remarked, "Olena Zelenska never expected to become a warrior for the people of Ukraine, but she answered this challenge with selfless bravery. She could have taken her family and fled. Which mother would blame her? But she stayed because freedom and democracy need defenders. She remains to show the world that the heart and hope can make even the greatest tyrants appear small. She stays for her children, for their future, and for the future of all Ukrainians."
