VIDEO: Suren Papikyan Comments on Yesterday's Military Clash at the Armenian-Azerbaijani Border
The Minister of Defense of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, has commented on the military clash that occurred yesterday near the village of Tegh, at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
According to him, adjustments are being made in the deployment between the border forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan. “Since there were certain inaccuracies in that area, the armed forces of Armenia temporarily deployed in this section to fulfill their duties until the final clarification of the issue. During these adjustments, there have been frequent incidents over the past 7-10 days where, due to engineering works, both sides have negotiated and clarified with each other, and that has led to statements that certain sections of the border line are no longer disputed and there are no problems. It was as a result of such an adjustment that the well-known incident occurred, which led to clashes and, unfortunately, unwanted consequences,” he stated.
Papikyan noted that this particular section of the border is primarily problematic, and work on clarifications is ongoing.
