Video: Nairy Sargsyan Joins Fundraiser for Alen Simonian

A little while ago, we reported that journalist Ani Gevorgyan is currently conducting a fundraiser titled "Help Alen Simonian" outside the National Assembly.

The camera captured the participation of Nairy Sargsyan, the former assistant to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, as he contributed to the cause.

It’s worth reminding that the Yerevan City Court has upheld a lawsuit by Alen Simonian against Ani Seyrani Gevorgyan concerning honor and dignity, after going through three instances of judicial review. The court's decision is final and cannot be appealed.

The court also obliged Ani Seyrani Gevorgyan to publicly retract statements deemed slanderous in the following manner: to post a statement on the website www.news.am, or, if impossible, on the personal Facebook page of the defendant in a manner accessible and visible to all for at least five working days, or in print media with a circulation of at least five thousand under the heading "Retraction" and the following content: "On April 16, 2021, in a video on the YouTube channel titled 'hayeli am', and in articles on news.am and hayeli.am, Ani Seyrani Gevorgyan made a statement concerning Alen Simonian that he ordered a crime against me and targeted my underage child, which does not correspond to reality."

The court also ordered Ani Seyrani Gevorgyan to pay Alen Robert Simonian 150,000 AMD as damages for defamation, 100,000 AMD as reasonable attorney's fees, and 7,000 AMD for the state tax fee previously paid on the accepted claim.
