The Issue of Prisoners Is Not Subject to Negotiations. They Must Be Repatriated Immediately. Khandanian
All diplomatic channels are being utilized for the repatriation of Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan. This was stated by the Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Relations Committee, Sargis Khandanian, during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly, referring to a recent protest in the Shirak region.
“You may not hear this issue in our public agenda, as Azerbaijan's goal is to exploit this issue and use it as a tool in negotiations. However, I emphasize that the issue of prisoners is not a subject of negotiations for us; it is clear that the prisoners must be repatriated immediately,” Khandanian said.
According to him, the Armenian side's awareness is also present among international partners, and the Armenian side continuously demands increased pressure on Azerbaijan regarding this matter.
Earlier, we reported that the relatives of those captured at the combat positions in the Khtsaberd area of Hadrut blocked the Gyumri-Bavra interstate road, demanding the return of their children.
