Russia Must Defend Belarus as Its Own Territory, Lukashenko
Minsk and Moscow are discussing that in the event of aggression against Belarus, the Russian Federation would defend it as its own territory. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated this during a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, emphasizing the need for guarantees of protection from Russia in the case of external aggression against Belarus. This was reported by Belta News.
“In general, it was stated in the negotiations that in the event of aggression against Belarus, the Russian Federation will defend Belarus as its territory. This is the type of security guarantees we need,” he said.
It is worth noting that today Sergei Shoigu arrived in Minsk to discuss the details of the agreements previously reached by Belarusian President Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
