18+. «Perhaps my account was hacked» – Hovik Aghazaryan on sexually abusive remarks to a young woman
The newspaper «Hraparak» requested a comment from the parliamentary member Hovik Aghazaryan regarding his inappropriate behavior. He stated that his account may have been hacked and that he is not the author of the comments in question. ‘For several hours, my friends have been calling me, asking what's going on; I learned of it from them. I haven’t accessed my account during the weekend as I was organizing a gathering with my university friends in Kanakeravan. I do not deny that the post is mine, but I haven’t used Messenger. Probably, someone used Messenger without my knowledge; perhaps my account was hacked. I asked my assistant to change the password,’ said Aghazaryan.
When asked who could have accessed his account, he angrily replied, ‘How should I know?’
It is worth recalling that previously it became known that MP Hovik Aghazaryan from the “Civil Contract” party had used abusive language in a personal message towards journalist Tatev Virabyan, who had reprimanded him. In a conversation with NEWS.am, Tatev explained that she had been insulted by the MP directed towards a close person of hers, after which she decided to issue a reprimand, to which Aghazaryan responded with sexual abuse.
‘I tried to bring him to order, but I received such an insolent response from a member of the ruling faction of the National Assembly. I simply wrote that he is an older man; why would he respond like that to a young woman? It was certainly difficult for me that a person of my father's age would reply in such a manner, but I decided to share it on my Facebook page,’ she said.
Tatev Virabyan also mentioned that she plans to officially address the Ethics Committee of the National Assembly to investigate the matter.
