47-Year-Old Woman Throws Umbrella at Pashinyan: Investigative Committee Reports on Incident

A report has been received regarding an incident that took place on April 10, 2023, during Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's visit to the Malishka community in the Vayots Dzor region. Around 1:15 PM, a 47-year-old woman approached the intersection of 8th, 14th, and Central Streets in Malishka.

Ignoring the repeated legitimate demands of the police officers and their requests, at approximately 2:40 PM, the woman attempted to engage in violence against the Prime Minister as part of her unlawful actions by deliberately throwing her umbrella in the direction of Nikol Pashinyan while standing in the yard of one of the houses in Malishka.

Based on the reasonable suspicion that arose directly, the aforementioned individual has been arrested and presented to the prosecuting body. A criminal case has been initiated by the Vayots Dzor regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia under the characteristics of part 3 of Article 44-452 of the RA Criminal Code. An investigation has begun, and the circumstances of the incident are being clarified.

Notification: The accused in the crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
