Today, a forest planting program covering approximately 12 hectares has begun. The tree planting initiative, implemented by the Greenery and Environmental Protection public organization, has enriched the area with around 4,500 tree and shrub species.
Simultaneously, a completely new irrigation system has been constructed with various rainwater collection systems, stretching 7,000 linear meters. The seedlings include roadside pines, various species of oak, albizia, barberry, wild fruit trees, and special tree species aimed at enhancing the aesthetic appearance of the roadside areas, all acquired from the Yerevan Municipality.
Thanks to this tree planting effort, the area has been cleaned up, removing construction debris that has accumulated over the years. The evergreen and deciduous seedlings will provide a well-maintained and tidy appearance to the area while also enriching it with oxygen.
In a post on his Facebook page, Yerevan City Council member Kristine Vardanyan noted, “We added new seedlings alongside apricot and mulberry trees that were planted earlier and in an extraordinary condition.”
It is also worth mentioning that the Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan participated in the tree planting.
