VIDEO: Monuments of Former Pope Defaced in Poland After Controversial Film

In Poland, monuments of Pope John Paul II have been defaced following the release of a controversial film about the Catholic Church's cover-up of child abuse. This was reported by 360TV.

It is noted that police have arrested a man suspected of throwing paint on the statue of John Paul II located in front of the Basilica in Łódź. The hands of the pontiff's statue are painted red, while his face is covered in yellow. An inscription reading maxima culpa has appeared on the pedestal, referring to the title of Dutch journalist Ekke Overbeek's book Maxima Culpa. John Paul II Knew.

Days earlier, another statue of John Paul II in Stalowa Wola was drenched in red paint. The perpetrator has yet to be identified.
