Israeli Air Force Strikes Hamas Targets in Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced that its aircraft have targeted several sites belonging to the Hamas group in southern Lebanon.

The IDF stated on Twitter, "The Israeli army has attacked the infrastructure and other positions of the terrorist organization located in southern Lebanon." The report emphasizes that the IDF will not allow Hamas to operate from Lebanese territory, which Israelis hold responsible for rocket fire originating from that area.

Israeli media reports indicate that strong explosions have been heard in the southern Lebanese city of Tyre. On Friday morning, the IDF carried out airstrikes against targets in the Gaza Strip following rocket fire from Lebanon the previous day. According to the military press service, the Hamas group is behind the rocket launches from northern Israel.

As reported by The Times of Israel, according to Israeli authorities, a total of 34 rockets were fired, of which 29 were intercepted by the missile defense system. Lebanon has stated that the rockets were apparently launched from Palestinian refugee camps. Beirut has also denied reports of retaliatory shelling by the Israeli army.

Meanwhile, Israeli media report that on Friday night, at least 10 rockets were fired toward Israel from Gaza. Air raid sirens have sounded in several Israeli settlements. The IDF has yet to comment on these reports.
