Estonia Blocks Russian TV Channels

The Estonian Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (TTJA) has blocked access to 53 domains through which Russian TV channels, banned in the European Union (EU), could be viewed online. This was reported by РИА Новости, citing the press service of the authority.

According to the agency's announcement, "TTJA has blocked access to 53 domains that allowed watching Russian TV channels banned in the EU and has informed internet service providers about this."

Surveys indicate that mentions of Russian channels as an important source of information have decreased from 33% to 11% over the past year, while trust in them has dropped from 40% to 18%, said TTJA head Kristi Talving.
