VIDEO: "More Dynamic Interactions Needed". Pashinyan Meets with Russian Deputy Prime Minister
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today received Aleksey Overchuk, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan also participated in the meeting. This was reported by the Armenian government.
In his remarks, Prime Minister Pashinyan stated: "Dear Aleksey Logvinovich,
I welcome you and am very glad for our meeting. I must note with satisfaction that we have a high intensity of communication between the representatives of the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation, and despite this, there is a need for more dynamic interactions, as our agenda is so saturated that it is not always possible to cover all issues. I am confident that today we will discuss a rather broad range of questions—economic and political issues, as well as questions regarding the regional and international situation. It is always a pleasure for me to meet with you and have the opportunity to discuss all these issues. Welcome!"
The Russian Deputy Prime Minister, for his part, said: "Dear Nikol Vova,
Thank you very much. I also am very pleased to meet with you and discuss the issues of our bilateral agenda. I would like to first emphasize the strategic nature of the relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia. Of course, these are relations that have been constructed in their current form over the last 30 years, while they in reality have a multi-century history and have faced various challenges, including economic crises and changes in the global trade economic system. Nevertheless, we continue to strengthen our cooperation in the economic sector, and we have very good indicators of mutual trade turnover growth from last year. Investments from Russia to Armenia are also on a good track. We truly rejoice in the successes that the Armenian economy is recording as part of the larger economy of the Eurasian Economic Union, and the advantages that the Union provides are, of course, evident."
The interlocutors discussed issues related to the agenda of Armenian-Russian cooperation. They touched upon trade and economic relations and other topics of mutual interest.
