No Violations Found in Sour Cream, 4 Companies Resolved Violations in Cottage Cheese
Based on two reports by the news outlet Hetq regarding an investigation into the cottage cheese and sour cream markets, the State Food Safety Inspection Body has conducted state control measures at several dairy production companies.
Accordingly, laboratory examinations were conducted by the Inspection Body on nine cottage cheese samples from the following companies: Chanakh (0.6%), Hayr and Vordz Yeremyans (12%), Bonilat (9%), Biokat (12%), Dustr Marianna (Marianna brand) (9%), Arzni Dairy Products (Arzni Kot brand) (9%), Arban (Ashtarak dairy brand) (7%), and Marila (9%), as well as four sour cream samples from Chanakh (18%), Bonilat (17%), Arzni Dairy Products (20%), and Biokat (18%).
According to the laboratory testing protocols, the cottage cheeses from four companies did not meet the standards for lactic acid bacteria and starters set by the Customs Union technical regulations on the safety of milk and dairy products. By the decision of the head of the Inspection Body, the production of cottage cheese has been suspended in those companies where violations were recorded.
The companies have rectified the violations within the established deadlines, and following the re-inspection carried out by the Inspection Body, the suspensions have been lifted.
As for the labeling of the cottage cheese produced by Tamara and Ani LLC, it complies with the requirements set by legal acts. No violations were found in any of the sour creams.
