In Which Cases Citizens Will Not Be Held Accountable for Wearing Military Uniforms

All attributes of military uniforms will be regulated within the framework of legislation. This was stated by Armenia's Deputy Minister of Defense Arman Sargsyan during the April 3 meeting of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security.

Deputy representative of the ruling Civil Contract faction, Hayk Sargsyan, inquired whether shepherds wearing military uniforms would be punished. According to the parliamentarian, shepherds often wear military attire.

The Deputy Minister responded that all such questions would be resolved within the law. “We will clearly define what constitutes the uniform of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia,” assured Arman Sargsyan.

A representative from the Ministry of Defense noted that only those citizens who wear military uniforms that fully comply with the criteria of the Armed Forces will be held accountable. Individuals who prefer to wear camouflage intended for hunting or fishing need not worry about any penalties.

“The restrictions will only apply to the types of military uniforms that are currently in use and actively utilized by the Armed Forces,” emphasized the Deputy Minister.
