Grushko Talks About Russia's Response to Finland Joining NATO
Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko has stated that the Russian side will strengthen its military capabilities in the northwestern region in response to Finland's accession to NATO. Helsinki will officially join the North Atlantic Alliance on April 4.
"We will enhance our military capabilities in the western and northwestern directions," the diplomat said.
Grushko also promised that if forces and resources from other NATO member states are deployed in Finland, Moscow will take "additional measures to reliably ensure Russia's military security." However, he did not specify what specific measures would be taken.
