American Reconnaissance Aircraft Breaches Iranian Airspace: Warning Issued
An ER-3E reconnaissance aircraft belonging to the U.S. Armed Forces breached Iranian airspace on Sunday, according to the Tasnim news agency.
The incident reportedly occurred over the Gulf of Oman. After the aircraft crossed into the Islamic Republic's airspace, the Iranian naval forces were put on full alert and a warning was sent to the aircraft's crew. Shortly afterward, it returned to international airspace.
The agency also noted that the reconnaissance aircraft was manufactured by Lockheed Martin and is operated by the U.S. Navy.
Data from Flightradar24 indicated that the aircraft continued to fly along the length of Iran's border in the skies over the Gulf of Oman.
