Car Explodes After Refueling at Gas Station, Injuries Reported

On April 1, an extraordinary incident occurred in the Kotayk region. Shamshyan.com reports that around 13:10, a 30-year-old resident of Yerevan, Araik Yeremyan, was refueling his Mitsubishi vehicle at a gas station located at the beginning of the Chayni bends on the Yerevan-Sevan highway. After exiting the gas station and moving a short distance, an explosion erupted in the vehicle.

According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, who reported from the scene, A. Yeremyan was transported to the hospital following the explosion. The blast also damaged the vehicle, shattering the windshield and side windows.

A criminal investigation has been initiated by the Abovyan investigative division regarding the incident.
