User Continues to Alarm About Tree 'Genocide' in Sevan: Ministry of Environment Responds

Which legislation do you base the genocide of forests on? The user raises an alarm. Today, during one of our news broadcasts, I turned to a new post by Facebook user Ara Arayan. The discussion pertains to the Sevan-Gavar section, where, according to the data provided by him, 1.5 hectares of forest have been cut down.

It is noted that there is going to be a public swimming area in that section, for which a competition has been held. The user claims that this so-called competition was held in a blatantly false and illegal manner. The results of the competition and the winning party's project were not published immediately after the competition. After numerous requests, a month after the competition, an extract of the record and the winning party's project were provided.

"They say the swimming area is below the 1905 marker, and the cleaning work of the forest strip in the area is regulated by law. The entire forested section down to the village of Chkalovka is below that marker, a significant part of the Norashen forest reserve is below 1905, and then what? Which legislation do you base the genocide of forests on?" The Ministry of Environment's statement reads, "The ongoing unfounded, manipulative discussions about the organization of a public swimming area in the territory of the 'Sevan' national park have no relation to reality and merely reveal the true intentions of the manipulators."

The uproar surrounding the swimming area is based on personal interests and ulterior motives, as there exists a close kinship between the complainant and a citizen who did not win the announced competition for the public beach in Lchashen (based on yesterday's interview given to AuroraNews by the user). It should also be noted that AuroraNews has in its possession documents indicating that the other party did not participate in the competition and did not present themselves.
