Low Temperatures Recorded in Several Regions Overnight, -10 in Ashotsk
As forecasted, last night the air temperature dropped by 6-8 degrees across the entire territory of the republic. This information was provided by the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center.
The minimum temperature in mountainous regions was recorded at -2 to -7 degrees, with Ashotsk reaching -10 degrees. In Lori, temperatures ranged from 0 to -4 degrees, while in Tavush, they fell between -1 and +4 degrees. In the Ararat Plain and its foothills, temperatures were recorded at +2 to +5 degrees, and in the foothills of Syunik, it was 0 degrees, whereas the valleys in Syunik saw temperatures between +4 and +8 degrees.
Snowfall has been reported in Tavush, Lori, Shirak, the mountains of Aragatsotn, and Gegharkunik. In Ijevan, the snow cover reached 20 cm, 13 cm in Sevan, and 10 cm in Chambarak.
From March 31 until noon, scattered rain is expected in certain areas of the republic, with precipitation in the form of snow in mountainous and foothill regions in the afternoon and into the evening, as well as overnight into April 1. Wind gusts are expected to reach 18-22 m/s in some areas.
Starting from dawn, the strength of the cyclone is expected to gradually weaken. No changes are anticipated in the forecasts for low temperatures over the next two days.
