VIDEO: Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry Responds to Iranian Senior Military Official's Statements

Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense has deemed the statement made by the commander of the Iranian army as defamatory, insisting that “there are no foreign elements in Azerbaijani territory,” and that all accusations directed at Baku from Tehran are “unfounded and unacceptable.”

“It is no secret today that France and Iran are Azerbaijan's main allies in the world,” the ministry emphasized.

Earlier, Kiomars Heydari, the commander of Iran's ground forces, noted that one of the sensitive issues existing in the Caucasus is the presence of elements of the Zionist regime near the country’s borders, while another concerns the presence of Syrian terrorists who have moved to the region during the second Nagorno-Karabakh war.

The Iranian general also stressed that Tehran will not allow any changes at the border with Armenia.
