Azerbaijani Forces Block Goris-Stepanakert Highway Between Aghavno and Tegh Villages
The Azerbaijani forces have blocked the Goris-Stepanakert highway between the villages of Aghavno and Tegh last night. This was reported by the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Artsakh.
A new dirt road bypassing the blocked route from Tegh to Kornidzor in the Syunik region is already prepared, which connects to the new Kornidzor-Hin Shen road that was put into operation in August 2022 (the "Berdzor (Lachin) corridor"). The asphalting works of the Tegh-Kornidzor road are currently underway by the Republic of Armenia.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs informs that the Tegh-Kornidzor dirt road is passable and, considering the ongoing blockade of Artsakh, it can facilitate humanitarian supplies to Artsakh from Russian peacekeepers and the International Committee of the Red Cross. By the way, this road is being monitored by the Russian peacekeeping forces near the bridge over the Hakari River at the border of the Republic of Artsakh.
It should be reminded that since December 12, 2022, the Azerbaijani side has blocked the section of the interstate highway that connects Artsakh to Armenia near Shushi. The population of Artsakh has been deprived of contact with the outside world for 108 days now.
