Many Armenians Believe Azerbaijan Will Attack in Spring, Says EU Mission Head
The German publication "Deutsche Welle" has addressed the issue of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. According to the article on the site, the 2020 ceasefire between Armenia and Azerbaijan is fragile, and the peaceful residents of Armenia fear new escalation. This is reported by Radar Armenian.
Markus Ritter, the head of the EU mission stationed in the Armenian part of the border with Azerbaijan, noted that although many Armenians are pleased with the mission's deployment, the observers are not allowed to enter Azerbaijani territory, which means they cannot monitor, for example, the movements of troops preparing for a potential next attack.
"Many Armenians believe that Azerbaijan will attack in spring. If that does not happen, our mission will already be considered successful," Ritter said.
