Pope Francis Hospitalized: Upcoming Appointments Canceled
Pope Francis's stay in the hospital may be prolonged, as his scheduled appointments for the next two days have been canceled, Il Fatto Quotidiano reports, based on TASS information.
Corriere della Sera mentions that the Pontiff may have "heart-related issues." Rai News 24 has reported that Francis is undergoing tomography due to "respiratory difficulties." Earlier, the Associated Press reported that today Pope Francis visited the Gemelli hospital in Rome for planned medical examinations.
The Vatican has not disclosed further details regarding the 86-year-old Pontiff's visit to the clinic but indicated that it was "previously scheduled." In the summer of 2021, Francis spent ten days at the Gemelli hospital following intestinal surgery, during which half of his colon was removed.
