Why Avinyan 'Sent Home' Hrachya Sargsyan: He Doesn't Even Hide It

The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports: Following Hrachya Sargsyan's resignation, the first operational meeting at the city hall was held yesterday, led by Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan, despite the fact that Levon Hovhannisyan has been appointed acting mayor. Avinyan announced that he has divided work among deputy mayors Suren Grigoryan, Levon Hovhannisyan, and Stepanyan Machyan, and decided that he would mainly lead the meetings.

According to our information, Avinyan's statement caught many of his allies by surprise; they did not expect him to openly demonstrate why he 'sent home' Sargsyan, who had ascended to his position prematurely, and let the residents of Yerevan attribute any developments in the city directly to himself. Previously, he even refrained from participating in these meetings.
