VIDEO: Number of Protest Participants in France Reaches 740,000
Nearly 740,000 people took to the streets of French cities on Tuesday to express their opposition to pension reforms. This was reported by BFM television, citing the Interior Ministry.
The previous estimate of participants in the ongoing demonstrations by the Interior Ministry was more than 550,000.
Earlier, it was reported that strikes against the adoption of pension reforms had spread to the southwest of France. Protesters stormed the airport in the city of Biarritz.
