Erik Israelian's Statements and Complaints are Inadequate: HBF
Erik Israelian's statements and complaints regarding the federation are inadequate, said the Armenian Boxing Federation in response to an inquiry from ArmSport, commenting on the world and European youth champion's post about renouncing his Armenian citizenship.
The federation declined to provide further comments.
Recall that the boxer previously expressed his dissatisfaction with the Armenian Boxing Federation towards the end of the year, stating that he was not welcomed or congratulated at the airport after becoming a champion.
Earlier, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports also addressed the boxer's statements, noting that Israelian has fully received the bonuses due to him from the state over the past two years.
In particular, in 2022, Erik Israelian received a total financial support of 4 million 600 thousand drams, of which 1.5 million drams was awarded at the end of the year as the winner of the Youth World Championship, and he was again awarded 800 thousand drams at the end of the year as the winner of the European Youth Championship.
Since January 2023, he has been receiving a sports benefit of 200 thousand drams and a nominal pension of 240 thousand drams.
It should be noted that Israelian announced on his Facebook page that he renounces his Armenian citizenship and will henceforth compete under the flag of another country, without specifying which country he was referring to.
