Clashes Erupt Again in France Between Protesters and Police

Clashes have resumed in France between protesters opposing pension reforms and the police. Reports indicate that in Lille, protesters threw eggs at security forces guarding the home of a local MP who supports raising the retirement age. In Rennes, police deployed water cannons, while in Nantes, tear gas and batons were used.

In La Rochelle, demonstrators have set up and burned barricades made of tires. Earlier reports indicated that the situation in Paris was calm; however, due to a nationwide strike, the Eiffel Tower has been closed to visitors.

The Eiffel Tower has suspended admissions due to the nationwide strike related to pension reforms in France.
