Armed Man Attacks People in Lisbon, Victims Reported

An armed man wielding a knife has attacked people at a Muslim religious center in the capital of Portugal, Lisbon. CNN Portugal reports that the incident has resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The assailant is said to be of Afghan descent.

Police arrived at the scene and neutralized the attacker by shooting him in the leg. He has been arrested and transported to a hospital.

The motives for the attack remain unclear at this time.
