110 Million Drams: Khachatur Hayrapetyan Discusses Changed Anonymous Donations to the 'My Step' Foundation
The Executive Director of the 'My Step' Foundation, Khachatur Hayrapetyan, clarified today during a press conference the fact of a changed substantial anonymous donation to the foundation.
According to the official website, among the anonymous transfers, there is a one-time transfer of $300,000, while the total amount of monetary transfers has reached 110 million drams. He stated that, according to current legislation, he is not allowed to disclose the names of those who have made anonymous donations, as this contradicts personal data protection norms.
Hayrapetyan noted that every year by July 1, the foundation submits the previous year’s report to the State Revenue Committee, emphasizing that donor details are not submitted to tax authorities. “If any journalist can find a benefactor or entrepreneur in Armenia or abroad who can provide evidence of any conversation, even an allusion, that any businessman under criminal investigation, a former official, or any local government representative had such conversations whereby they might receive indulgences in exchange for donations, I declare that I will take full responsibility under the law,” stated Hayrapetyan.
At the same time, Hayrapetyan mentioned that the $300,000 was transferred from California, USA, in March 2021, and is intended for providing scholarships.
