The West has begun to construct a new axis similar to that built by fascist Germany, Italy, and militaristic Japan in the 1930s, stated Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with Pavel Zarubin on the "Rossiya 24" television channel.

Putin recalled that NATO has agreed on a new strategic concept for the alliance, declaring its global focus. "It is expressly stated that NATO is preparing to develop relations with countries in the Asia-Pacific region. This includes New Zealand, Australia, South Korea, and so on. They announce the creation of a global NATO," said Putin.

According to him, this is precisely why Western analysts speak of a new axis. Putin added that earlier this year, Britain and Japan signed a mutual openness agreement aimed at establishing connections and developing relations in the military sector.
