Putin Explains Why He Drove Without a Seatbelt in Mariupol
The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has spoken about his recent visit to Mariupol. According to him, the trip was work-related and long overdue, as it was necessary to see the progress of the city's restoration efforts. This information has been reported by Russian news outlets.
“It was time to see, to come and see for ourselves how the restoration work is proceeding in Mariupol, what additional measures are needed, and what the priorities are,” said Putin.
He noted that he visited various locations, including residential areas, educational facilities, the Federal Medical and Biological Agency's clinic, a philharmonic hall, and sports venues.
Putin also admitted that he drove through the streets of Mariupol without fastening his seatbelt, stating that he did so in case he needed to exit the vehicle quickly.
