Former Abovyan Mayor Karapet Guloyan's Assistant Also Involved in 'Illegal Property' Case
Manuk Hakobyan, who served as the assistant to former Abovyan Mayor Karapet Guloyan during his tenure (2008-2015), is implicated in the 'illegal property' case. An investigation was conducted regarding the properties belonging to him by the Department of Seizure of Illegally Acquired Property in the Office of the Prosecutor General, and a summary has been prepared. This was reported by Hetq.am.
The former assistant and his wife have been summoned to the Department of Seizure of Illegally Acquired Property on March 29 to familiarize themselves with the investigation materials and present their position.
It should be noted that at this stage, it is not disclosed which properties and what amounts of financial resources are subject to seizure as a result of the investigation. The rationale is that after reviewing the investigation materials, the interested party may provide evidence, explanations, or changes regarding the properties or amounts of financial resources.
We remind that the trial regarding the demand for seizure of illegally acquired property against Karapet Guloyan and Roza Tsarukyan is still ongoing at the Anti-Corruption Court.
The Prosecutor General's Office, represented by the Department of Seizure of Illegally Acquired Property, is demanding the seizure of one residential house and one land plot in the Kotayk region, shares in two companies—'ACBA Bank' LLC and Electromontage LLC—which are valued at 1 billion 638 million 557 thousand drams transferred to the bona fide acquirer, and 58 million 120 thousand of remaining illicit income.
They hold 2000 shares in 'ACBA Bank'.
